Welcome to the Website of
The Australian Classic Movie Restoration Company
We are a small family business based in Australia that sells classic movies upgraded by our
own technicians to 4K and Natural 3D.
We also retail a wide range of COLORISED versions of black and white classics.
You will not find these releases anywhere else on the web or in stores.
We don’t deal in copied or pirated movies – every title in our catalogue is either from
an original copyright free source or we own the copyright because we have significantly restored or upgraded the title, thus making it a “new product” under international copyright law.
Ebay
Until early 2025 we sold all our titles exclusively through Ebay.
During a four year period, we sold over 4800 discs with a positive feedback of 97.2%
Unfortunately our account was hacked and for a 4 month period we were unable to list or sell any item.
Remembering the saying “All things happen for a reason”, we took the time we were not trading
to re-evaluate our business.
We decided that the way forward was our own website – where we could not only sell our
exclusive products but build an on-line community of like minded film lovers.
There is still much to do and improve, but we look forward to the challenge and meeting up
with new and old customers.
Thank you.
Here is an overview of the products we sell.
4k Blu Ray
Although many of these titles are available on standard Blu Ray, none so far have been released
in 4K by the major studios.
Working with new technology, the Australian Classic Movie Restoration Co has produced
an exclusive series of classic movies in 4k 3840 x 1744 resolution.
However, these movies fall just short of full UHD.
Many are in Dolby 5.1 audio with beautiful images, perfect whites, deepest blacks and brilliant colours.
These classic movies in 4K are not available in shops and can only be purchased through
the Australian Classic Movie Restoration Co.
Much loved films ranging from The Alamo and Gone With The Wind to The Longest Day
and Oklahoma, have never looked so stunning.
You will require a 4K player to play these movies and 4K TV for the best image quality .
Natural 3D Movies
Natural 3-D is designed to draw the audience into the action and drama for a more realistic and
satisfying experience.Hitchcock was one of the first to use it in Dial M for Murder but it is
widescreen outdoor epics that it truly comes into its own.
Action on the screen has never looked so thrilling or convincing as in Natural 3-D.
We have used the latest technology to create post production Natural 3-D movies in the Side by Side format.
These movies are all in High Definition and suitable for any 3-D player and 3-D TV.
3-D Movies from the Golden Age
In the 1970s, the major Hollywood studios released 3D movies from the 50s and 60s on Laser Disc.
Although very popular the digital revolution of the 1980s overtook them and
analogue Laser Discs and 3-D were removed to the digital rubbish tip.
To keep these old classics alive, we have invested heavily to develop these movies from the
Shutter to the Side By Side format, thus enabling them to be viewed on any modern digital TV.
The image quality varies from very good to excellent depending on the year these movies were released
Colorised Movies -- Analogue
Computerized colorization began in the 1970s but these early analogue attempts at color often
resulted in soft contrast and pale, flat, washed-out colors.
Over 300 movies were colorised by Ted Turner of TCM alone and released, together with titles
from other companies, on VHS. These movies are no longer covered by copyright and we have released
them on DVD having digitally remastered them from the original Colorized tapes to improve image quality.
Colorised Movies -- Digital
More recently, new software processes have enabled us to create new colorized versions of previously non colorized movies that maintain both sharpness and good depth of color.
You will find these under the Rare and Collectible Colorised Movie banner on our sleeves..
Rareties
We love searching the world of movies and classic TV productions to find those
rare titles that have been lost for many years.
It took us 12 years to source the very best elements to remaster the
classic 1988 spy thriller “Game, Set and Match”.
