Open Range is a 2003 revisionist Western where free-grazing cattlemen Boss Spearman and Charley Waite face off against a corrupt rancher and his hired guns in a small Montana town. With sweeping landscapes, authentic period detail, and a gripping showdown, the film blends themes of honor, justice, and redemption. Praised for its realism, strong performances from Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall, and a standout climactic gunfight, it’s regarded as a modern Western worth watching.
A great western movie.
